Meld Magazine is a news and lifestyle magazine created for Melbourne’s international student community.

My responsibilities included:

  • Writing and researching news related articles
  • Interviewing sources
  • Event photography and video editing

LightMelbourne is responsible for two stations including LightDigital and 89.9 LightFM, Australia’s largest community radio station.

“IN CONVERSATION WITH CLAYTON” PRODUCER (2013)

My role is to source and organize interview and keep everything on schedule. I was the client liaison for multiple stakeholder partners with the key responsibilities of:

  • Briefing in the presenter
  • Managing call flows throughout the segment to ensure productivity
  • Booking and sourcing relevant individuals for interviews on the show
  • Managing live and outdoor broadcasts
  • Liaising with local business owners for broadcast locations and prizes
  • Working internally with other departments

I was responsible for creating and editing content, including writing, images, videos and design.

Key responsibilities:

  • Converting on air content for an online audience
  • Editing articles and multimedia (writing, image, audio and video editing)
  • Maintaining the website and designing page layouts (basic coding: HTML, CSS)
  • Moderating its social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Hootsuite, Pinterest, WordPress, Tumblr)

JOURNALISM INTERN (2012)

Crikey is an Australian online newspaper well regarded for its political, media and business commentary. I shadowed notable young Australian journalists such as editor Jason Whittaker and journalists Amber Jamieson and Andrew Crook.

  • Pitching and writing articles
  • Following tips, researching stories, interviewing sources and experts

EDITOR (2008)

The Marcian is an annual magazine created inhouse and distributed to the school community including prospective students.

Responsibilities included:

  • Coordinating a committee of twelve peers
  • Interviewing other students and faculty members
  • Content creation
  • Editing articles and submissions
  • Compiling photos and designing layouts

SALVATION ARMY “KIDZONE” MAGAZINE

WORK EXPERIENCE INTERN (2007)

Kidzone is the Australian Salvation Army’s magazine created for young audiences.
Responsibilities included:
  • Writing articles, quizzes and stories
  • Learning and using inhouse software to design other activities including quizzes and puzzles
